After many years of searching for an appropriate shoe for my unusual feet (I was born with clubbed feet and flat arches), I am very pleased to have had a happy landing in Kybun shoes: I have Säntis for hiking and Sursee for indoor use. They have made a massive difference to my posture and sense of health. Thank you Kybun!
Very easy ordering process, boots arrived in a nice sturdy box. Boots are clearly of excellent build quality. Very comfortable indeed to wear - probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever experienced; I can confirm that they actually work better without my orthotics inserted. I still get trouble with heel pain, but have only been wearing the boots for 1 month - of course it will take a while to subside. I'm wearing them daily - probably a bit impractical, though of course they are fine in autumn/winter weather for dog walking etc - so guess I'll have to buy more Kybun shoes now!
A year ago I suddenly suffered what felt like severe plantar fasciitis in my right foot, which meant I could only hobble at best for many weeks. With appropriate exercises and 2 pairs of Kybun shoes, I gradually became able to walk more comfortably. Recently I bought a pair of Santis 20 boots, prior to a walking holiday in Cornwall. I was/am delighted with the boots. I could walk over rough terrain without pain and they have allowed me to get back to one of my great pleasures—a pleasure I thought I might have lost a year ago.
I have delayed any feedback until I had properly used these. Recently, I was walking in the Lake District, UK. These boots took me up Blencathra (868m), from Rosthwaite to Grasmere over Greenup Ridge and around Watendlath. Substantial walking in all three cases. They were comfortable, with the Kybun shock absorbing sole really cushioning every step, particularly downhill. As I have a Mortons Neuroma on one foot, such impact protection is important. My only point to note is that they do not contain a 'Goretex' or equivalent waterproof lining. However, I applied Nikwax leather and fabric waterproofing beforehand which does an amazing job with water repellency. I would recommend these for anyone who needs high levels of cushioning and shock absorption when out walking on hills and mountains.
